Ellie Ebben

Hello lovely ladies!

My name is Ellie! This is my third year with ONN and my second year as President. I joined this group initially to get out of my comfort zone, to meet new women in the area, and to learn about all things going on in the community. So far, this group has met my expectations & more! I welcome new ideas & suggestions on how ONN can be improved. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me!

Here is a little about myself- I have lived in Oconomowoc for 12 years. My husband and I have been married for 4 years and are expecting our first little this coming fall. Ask anyone...I'm a HUGE foodie & wino! I love dogs, live music, thrillers, and travelling with my family.

I look forward to making new memories and meeting new faces this year!

Vice President

Andrea Virsnieks

Hello Lake Country Ladies!

My name is Andrea Virsnieks. I have lived in Oconomowoc for a few years with my Goldendoodle, Ellie. Once I visited Lake Country, I knew it was the right fit for me. I grew up in a small town and Oconomowoc reminded me of that and once I moved here I truly fell in love. I have developed a career as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) within the Manufacturing and Distribution industry serving family owned companies. In addition to work, I  have many hobbies including working out (check out CrossFit Rohkeus for a challenge), reading, walking my dog, paddle boarding (newest hobby), baking sweets, and listening to live music. I love being outside, day drinking, and being on a boat or near water! I didn't have a boat when I was on the board last year and still don't have one, but I would still tag along on yours!

Shortly after moving to Lake Country, I knew I wanted to get more involved within the community and meet new people. One of the first things I found was ONN!! My first year I joined as a member to see what the group was about, but didn't get much involved. After that first year, I needed to get more involved and decided to be on the board and join some of the sub-clubs. This is my second year on the board as the Vice President and I have loved every minute of it. I have build some great relationships with amazing ladies in the area, ate at some pretty cool restaurants, read a couple of new books, and found a passion for paddle boarding. I can't wait to meet you at the next event!!

Secretary

Mary Beth Freckmann

Hi, Mary Beth here! I am excited to be on the ONN Board for a second year, this time as the Secretary.

I moved to Oconomowoc 12 years ago and have loved every minute of it. I became an ONN member when I first moved here to meet new people in the Lake Country area and from the beginning was welcomed in every way. I rejoined in 2019 because want to connect with more women and families in our community.

I have three adult children. My two sons and daughter-in-law live and work in Madison and my daughter, Madeleine (also a member) was married last September. She lives independently in Oconomowoc with her husband. Madie and her husband have Down Syndrome, so this has been quite an adventure!!! As a new empty-nester and single, this is the first time I have ever lived alone. I must admit, I am loving every minute of it!

I have been involved in the Disability Community in SE Wisconsin since 1993 and love to help families who have children with disabilities connect with other local families and resources. Madie and I started a People First Lake Country Chapter a few months prior to Covid. We are now working on regrouping. We (will) hold monthly meetings at the Y at Pabst Farms to support and mentor young adults with disabilities to become aware of the local resources, supports and their ability and responsibility to self-advocate.

I originally went to college for interior design and switched gears halfway through and received a BA in Art Therapy. My career led me to several different social work jobs before discovering my love of Real Estate and staging. As a visual artist, my gift of design, color and balance drew me into an almost obsession with color psychology, staging and then real estate.

I love to make art, hike, bike, ski, kayak, talk design and real estate.

Can’t wait to get to know you!

Cheers!

Treasurer

Larissa Charais

Hello, I am this year’s treasurer. I have been a member of ONN for three years. My husband and I both grew up in Wisconsin, but spent 18 years living in Phoenix, AZ. We moved back to Wisconsin three years ago to be close to family. My family is in both the Milwaukee and Madison areas, and my husband’s family is in the Appleton and Eau Claire areas. We live in Oconomowoc and have four kids (three boys and a girl ages 4 to 12), as well as a dog who really misses the desert (he will NOT go outside if it’s raining or snowing). I work part-time from home as a CPA, doing accounting for small law firms.

I love to read, so I’ve been a regular in the book club. Since moving back to Wisconsin, I’ve been trying to get into gardening (with limited success so far!). I’m looking forward to meeting more new friends in the coming year!

Hi, I’m Sharon and moved to the area 3 years ago with my husband Jeff. We have 3 adult daughters and were blessed with a grandchild last year (another is due in September 2021 ). We have a three year old dog, Toby, and a cat named Rocky who is the socialite of our neighborhood. I was born and raised in the south suburbs of Chicago and have spent over half of my adult life living in Wisconsin (Milwaukee, Central Wisconsin, and now Genesee). The other half was scattered between Indiana (2x), Kentucky, Ohio, Maryland, and Germany. Lucky for me that I love meeting new people, developing new friendships and exploring new places. There are so many things I love about living in Wisconsin! Some include how friendly people are, the natural beauty of the state, and how many Wisconsinites enjoy the outdoors all throughout the year no matter what the season. I enjoy hiking and being on the water so I really appreciate Lake Country because of the variety of lakes and state, county, and municipal parks it has to offer.

In addition to the outdoor activities, I also like to read, cook/bake/eat, crochet, practice yoga, and visit microbreweries. Of course, I love to spend time with my family and head up north to visit my grandson at least once a month. I’m passionate about travelling and find ways to do so as often as I can. I studied Art Education many years ago, and after raising my family I earned my masters in Art Therapy. I worked for Advocate Aurora until the end of 2020 and am currently working on creating a private practice that supports wellness through a holistic perspective.

I joined ONN early in 2021 and was excited to take on the duties of Membership Director as that meant I would definitely get to meet all the new club members! I’m really looking forward to getting to know current and new members this year while getting out and about in Lake Country!

Social Media Coordinator

Aly McDonald

Hello Ladies!! I am Aly but on Facebook you will find me as Alexandria. I moved to Ixonia in May 2019 from a small town near Fond du Lac. I live here with my husband (Jacob) and our two dogs (Roo and Shaila) and our four cats (Gazpacho, Baseball, Neverland and Princess Mirabella Purples Beyoncé). We joke we should sell admission to our house to see the zoo! We clearly love animals and had fostered dogs and a cat prior to moving here. Other than animals I love reading, baking, crafting, traveling and anything outdoors including hiking, camping and paddle boarding! I am pretty much up for any adventure and trying new things!

I joined ONN in the fall of 2019 after stumbling across the website while searching for a book club to join. At the time I was working from home for a company where I used to live so I was not meeting anyone in the area but knew I needed to. In the short time since I’ve joined I have met some truly wonderful women! I initially decided to join the board because I wanted to be more active within the club and push myself to meet more women and friends. I am so glad I did because I have gotten to have some amazing connections I don't think I would have had without being a part of the board.

I am looking forward to what this year will hold and very much looking forward to seeing you all soon!
